The 50mm 1.8s I picked up is as advertised and worth every penny, but the price/size of the remaining lenses leaves me on the fence of whether to keep the Z5. The Z6 is much better than the Z5, IMHO the Z5 does not deserve the DPR Gold award. * Lock-on AF still remains unpredictable / unreliable. NexLupus, their own DPReview TV made a video on that Firmware 3.0, and stated that its AF is still mediocre at best, as pretty much all other youtubers say, as people that I know personally say. SO, VO, and SOVO (for both orientation or all-around). Done. No need to take my word for it - read the 6,000+ comments he has written, most of them in just the past few months! I agree. Given time the price of the Z5 will drop significantly (as has the Z6 price) and for an entry level mirrorless full-frame, the Z5 is impressive in that the differences between it and Z6 are pretty minor if you’re not bothered about video capability. These portraits aren't watercolor. I don't understand Nikon's mirrorless strategy. They acknowledged their mistake themselves. https://fujilove.com/zooms-vs-primes-productivity-vs-style/. The R and RP have only 1(one) SD (SecureDigital) slot!A XQD card is practically bomb-proof, it's as reliable as having 2 SD slots, but faster (per Sony claim). But it is a big compromise in terms of usability and yes, even the color science. For instance, i went the EOS 10D, 20D...50D Route - and never looked at the xxxD, or even xxxxxD Series backwards, too much Issues i dislike, like one Dial (!) If f/4 is enough aperture it is small, light, and very good optically. When I put a vintage lens with an aperture ring on my Z6, the controls are mostly analogue as well. Fujifilm has announced a special version of its 100MP GFX 100 for infrared imaging. At this level FF is dare I say it a novelty and would look at a Z50 instead. But arguably better quality glass. I love my RP! Quite well, in fact. Yongnuo, makers of lenses, cameras and other photo accessories, has filed a patent for a modular mirrorless camera system. I'm glad you're admitting that you're a troll. Sony A7c is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. I was already shooting Eterna most of the time, always for video. They weren’t expecting huge sales numbers. ), corner-to-corner clarity and sharp magnification. There’s one to make most people happy no matter what the brand. Yes, my older ones looked a little bit waxy sometimes at 5000+, but you can imagine the abysmal light requiring such high ISO. I would have happily traded in the dual card slots and EVF for uncropped 4K video, but I guess to Nikon that would still be encroaching on the Z6. It is indeed essentially a pro body - but the sensor is effectively the one from the D600, and I think that is a bigger issue than the review lets on, \\ but the sensor is effectively the one from the D600\\. You should read the review. I agree with mkowalski. Also the fireman looks fine to me. Who would use a built in flash? Sony's new Visual Story app for iOS promises event and wedding photographers a variety of useful tools, designed to simplify their workflow and enhance their business. While there is no size advantage over conventional DSLR lens size wise, you so get high quality EVFs and a larger AF point coverage area. This is not true no matter how many times it gets repeated. Then there is the,... kit lens, and it's limited zoom range. Native ISO range of 100-51,200, expandable up to ISO 102,400. :)). The Nikon glass all looks very good quality but I have been disappointed with the size of the primes for a small/light take anywhere combination. Oh, and it's a lot of fun too. The new Z series cameras do look intriguing, but I'm having no trouble wheedling clinically sharp details out of my Fuji when I want them. I have posted in the Nikon Z forum about this and it seems others have had the same experience. Specs are not known about the Z9 at this time, but I would be willing to bet the farm that there will be two card slots given the intense backlash Nikon has gotten about the single slot on the Z7. The event, which will show off a new 'DN' lens for mirrorless camera systems, is set to take place at 7am ET (4am PT) on December 1. *Ground-breaking autofocus with third-party lenses. Nikon Z5 has external dimensions of 134 x 101 x 70 mm (5.28 x 3.98 x 2.76″) and weighs 675 g (1.49 lb / 23.81 oz) (including batteries). Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube. Agreed and forgot to mention the D780 which is just about the DSLR version of the Z6; but why 5 cameras with basically the same sensor? In this era of people buying new cell phones every year with new tricks, it seems so much more is expected in new devices, and cameras are now tech devices. The frame rate is higher too, 5 FPS vs 4.5 FPS. Really bad Sony colors, poor weather sealing, and it's AF wasn't so hot either, regardless of the number of AF points. Otherwise I probably would have been very satisfied with a Z5 as a mainly stills photographer. Ridiculous to compare the Z5 to the Sony A7 III, I see a very strong bios trying to downplay price differences (Oct 22, 2020): Nikon Z5 - $1300 (6ave)Nikon Z6 - $1.400 (6ave)Sony A7 III - $1.780 (Redtag)Sony A7R II - $1.300 (B&H)Canon RP - $1.000 (B&H). The 1M dot screens are used on lots of Nikons and more than capable. In any light. To keep production costs down I maintain a single card slot would have been better as the 5 is NOT a pro level camera by any stretch. The AF-S Nikon F-mount lenses that I had were only usable in AF-S mode, and were nowhere near fast enough for AF-C or AF-F in video mode. That is the difference between native adapters like the FTZ and third party system adapters. @Mr Bolton There does seem to be some kind of mob at work here who are deliberately misunderstanding very clear text. I would have preferred around 5.5, but it's still faster than the RP, and similar to A7RII (5fps). The D3x came out in 2008. As many reviewers mentioned, the Z5 1080p is one of the best around. This Z5, come on, it's a travel back in time as for photography technology, If I wanted nostalgic retro technology, I could pick an A7m2 for a lot less money.---------------------------------I started with Nikon (V1, Df), then Sony (A7, A9, A7III), Canon (AL1, EOS 33V, EOS R), I used Fuji for a year, too. The $50 FTZ adapters are so existing Nikon users can use their F-mount lenses to fill in the gaps in the Z lens lineup.
